Frequently Asked Questions
Are the Twin Turbo Vise wood movement bars compatible with the swivel mount?
No, the wood movement bars are not compatible with the swivel mount. If you're using the swivel mount, the vise mounts directly to your bench without the need for wood movement bars.
What is the recommended bench thickness for mounting the Twin Turbo Vise?
The minimum bench thickness depends on the vise size:
• 14" vise: 2.5" minimum
• 20" vise: 3.5" minimum
• 24" vise: 4.25" minimum
If your bench is thinner, you can add blocking underneath to meet the required thickness.
Can I polish the gears on my vise?
Yes, you can polish the gears for a custom look. However, polishing removes the protective electroplating. We recommend applying a rust-preventive finish like water-based polyurethane afterward to protect the bare metal.
How is the Twin Turbo Vise measured?
The vise size refers to the distance between the centers of the two screws, not the overall width of the vise body or wooden jaws. For example, a "20-inch vise" has 20 inches of space between the screws, with the full assembly being wider than that.
